Eye makeup: Wear it right

Eye makeup: Wear it right

Who doesn't want to flaunt smokey eyes, but unfortunately they don't work for everyone. So the trick is to find out the right makeup that suits your eyes, otherwise a fashion statement can turn into a fashion faux paus.

Whether your eyes are too small, too big, too close or too far apart, you need to tweak your makeup to enhance your eyes' shape, reports vogue.in.

Here's how you can go with the suitable makeup for your eye:

- For almond shaped eyes like Aishwarya Rai: You can't really go wrong with this eye shape. Smoky shadows, graphic lines, bold colours - feel free to play.

- For down turned eyes like Katrina Kaif: Sometimes it's genetics, sometimes it's the result of age and the weakening of eye muscles, but if the outer corners of your eyes tend to droop, a cat-eye with an exaggerated upward flick is the easiest way to offset the down turned shape.

- For deep-set eyes like Sridevi: You don't need to contour the crease because it will be quite defined already. As tempted as you may be, avoid dark smoky eyes, they give your eyes a more sunken appearance. To make them pop, use light shadows with shimmers and pearlescent sheens that'll catch the light on the lid and below the brow bone.

- For hooded eyes like Blake Lively: If you can barely see the lid when you open your eyes, you know you have hooded eyes. Most shadow styles work with this type of eye shape, but pay extra attention to your top lash line and lash base. Amp those up generously with volumising mascara. Extend the colour you use in the crease all the way to the eyebrow to create a more definite shape.

- For close-set eyes like Kareena Kapoor: If the inner corners of your eyes are very close to the bridge of your nose, you need to focus on the outer corners. Here's where you apply your darker/brighter shadows and pull them out. Open up the inner corners with light, highlighting shadows.

- For wide-set eyes like Alia Bhatt: Here you do the opposite of the above. Dark shades should be focused on the inner corners and blended out to lighter hues on the outer corners.

- For prominent eyes like Deepika Padukone: If your eyes are the boldest feature on your face, go easy on the eye makeup. Contour subtly and use matte shadows close to your skin tone. Play up your lips with a bright pout to balance it out.

Jennifer Lopez doubted singing talent

http://buzzworthy.mtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/102144236.jpg

Jennifer Lopez has always doubted her singing ability.

The 'On The Floor' hitmaker admits she used to be insecure about her vocal range and it wasn't until she met her ex-husband Marc Anthony - whom she has five-year-old twins Maximilian and Emme with - that she began to realise she was a successful international popstar due to her talent, and not her flawless looks.
Speaking to Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine, she said: 'The biggest insecurity I had was my singing... Even though I had sold 70 million records, there was this feeling like, 'I'm not good at this'. And while I was married to Marc, he helped me get over it. He kept telling me, 'You're the only one holding yourself back from reaching your full potential as a singer. You have to let go'.
'I was always so insecure. Then I grew, little by little, and realised, wait a minute, this is not a fluke. I'm not a mistake - I work my ass off. And I know what I'm doing.'
The 44-year-old star split with Marc in July 2011 and has been dating choreographer Casper Smart, 26, since October 2011, but she admits her hunky beau has to work for her love.
She explained: 'For me, it's about having a great partner to walk this life with. I have my own high standards for what I want in a partner and how I want to be treated.
'I bring a lot to the table. I'm not talking about the material things but what I have to offer as a person - love and loyalty and all the things that make a good relationship.'

MANILA, Philippines—Don’t mess with a beauty queen from the Philippines.
Former beauty titlists and Miss World Philippines officials are rushing to the defense of Megan Young, the Filipino Miss World 2013 title winner who has come under attack from online haters.
On Sunday, a certain Facebook user (Devina DeDiva) criticized Young’s Miss World victory, dismissing the Philippines as a country of maids.
The Facebook user said: “Miss Philippines is Miss World? What a joke? I didn’t know those maids have anything else in them. Hahaha.”
The post has since been taken down from the social networking site. Inquirer tried to reach that Facebook user, who is alleged to be based in Singapore and studied at Manchester University, for comment but has not received a reply at press time.
Soon after the racial slur went online, a hate page attacking the Facebook user was put up on Tuesday, gaining 11,068 “likes” in a matter of hours.
Scriptwriter-actress Bibeth Orteza asked on Facebook: “But is DeDiva even her real name? Is that a surname typical from that part of the world…a cowardly pseudonym…or a play on ‘diva?’”
Filipino beauty queens have come to Young’s defense against the Facebook hater and other bashers.
Gemma Cruz-Araneta, Miss International 1964, asked pointedly: “What’s wrong with being a maid? Is that a crime?”
Melanie Marquez, Miss International 1979, told the Inquirer: “To all her detractors, bless your hearts. That’s all I can say. I am proud of and grateful for Megan’s simplicity and golden heart.”
Jennifer Cortes, Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 1978, said: “Seems the Philippines has become a powerhouse (in the pageant scene). Lots of people are getting envious. Sad about the personal attacks, but we are a country of beautiful people.”
Miriam Quiambao, Miss Universe first runnerup 1999, quipped: “I have nothing to say (to those critics). Let Megan show the world how great she is as a Filipino woman. Meanwhile, let’s all do our best to uplift our country by giving nobility to our jobs…wherever we are. This is a call for everyone to step up and show the world that we are kind, God-fearing people.”
Fashion model and Miss Visayas-RP 1976 Bessie Badilla quipped: “They are just sore losers. We shouldn’t waste our time on them. Let us enjoy Megan’s victory and ignore those who do not wish to celebrate with us.”

Showbiz Celebrity Gossip in World

When Salman, Aishwarya, Katrina Overacted!

Somedays back, I heard some of my moviebuff friends complaining that most of the actors of today's Bollywood generation can't act. And another guy present there replied, "Are you guys kidding me?" It's not our B-Town actors cannot act, it's more like, some of them overact, that's even more absurd. With all due to respect to the Bollywood actors, some of them have had a record of being over dramatic in their movies. Well, one can't ignore that the hindi film industry have produced some of the greatest and really talented actors each era. From the times of Raj Kapoor to Ranbir Kapoor, talent have been unlimited in the industry. But, amongst all, we have also come across some annoying onscreen acts by the hindi actors. Those who have watched the movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, Tees Maar Khan, Zanjeer remake, Himmatwala and many more, might have got the real dose of overacting. Loud dialogues, heavy expressions, overdramatised acting by the lead actors of these films, have turned out to be bizarre and attention-grabbing. While some of the viewers find it irritating, some have even found these amazingly humorous and end up making fun of the actors. Remember Aishwarya Rai Bachchan "Like Sunehri" act from Dhoom 3, or Kareena Kapoor as 'POO' and Kajol's loud punjabi acting in K3G, Salman Khan's overplay in Hello Brother and Priyanka Chopra's 'chuimiu' act from the recent release Zanjeer remake? Well, these are some of the classic examples of exaggerated acting in Bollywood. Go through the slider to check out more overacting:

Catherine-Zeta Jones Makes First Public Appearance Since Michael Douglas Separation

Catherine Zeta-Jones made her first public appearance on Sunday, Sept. 22—the same day her estranged husband, Michael Douglas, collected a Primetime Emmy Award for his role in HBO's Behind the Candelabra. No, Zeta-Jones wasn't by the actor's side at the star-studded event. Instead, the 43-year-old actress walked the red carpet in China's Shandong province to announce the launch of a new $5 billion film studio and plans for an annual Chinese film festival hosted by AMC Entertainment.
Zeta-Jones looked effortlessly chic wearing an orange and white Dennis Basso design. Later that night, she changed into a strapless emerald gown for the Wanda Film Production Center ground breaking ceremony in Qingdao, China

Mahnoor Baloch rubs shoulders with hollywood actors

Pakistani actor Mahnoor Baloch has certainly kept us on her toes. After her recent stint in Main Hoon Shahid Afridi, the actor is now seen in the trailer of Hollywood film Torn. Facebook is flooded with shared posts of Mahnoor’s new project, with people going gaga over her acting skills (and good looks). Directed by Jeremiah Birnbaum, Torn is a family drama that revolves around two families whose sons are killed in a bomb explosion. The age-defying beauty, who was recently seen shaking her toned leg in the much-hyped Pakistani movie Main Hoon Shahid Afridi, will be playing a lead character (one of the mothers) in the movie alongside Star Trek’s Captain Robau, Faran Tahir. Torn also stars actors John Heard and Dendrie Taylor. Mahnoor made her debut on television back in 1993 with PTV’s hit drama serial Marvi and has been working on and off ever since. The movie was previously titled Two Mothers but was then changed. It is scheduled to release some time this year. You go, girl!

See Pics: Bipasha Basu Is No Longer Single!

Did you hear the proverb "Where there's smoke, there's fire"? It looks like the rumours surrounding actress Bipasha Basu dating Harma Baweja has been creating enough smoke around. And the latest released pictures of Harman and Bips can be considered as the fire, that's been evoking such speculations repeatedly. Harman Baweja and Bipasha Basu, who were recently spotted at Indian American actress Parvati Melton's cocktail party, have yet again hit the headlines and people are wondering if the duo actors are actually dating each other. A while ago, we heard that Bipasha who broke up with her longtime boyfriend John Abraham, has again found love in Harman Baweja. We heard that the two actors were holidaying on the beaches of Goa, and it turns out that the couple is very much in love. Months back, Bipasha and Harman celebrated her birthday at a posh villa in Goa. And the duo was snapped along with friends playing in a swimming pool. We also heard that Bipasha's family is very fond of Baweja. If these rumours and reports are any indication, Bips seems no longer single!
