Wasim Akram is making his debut in film industry

Former Pakistan’s cricketer Wasim Akram will reportedly make his acting debut in Nikhil Advani's next film, Patiala House. The film will also include stars like Akshay Kumar. The film also stars Rishi Kapoor, Dimpla Kapadia and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’s heroine Anushka Sharma. Patiala House is apparently based on cricket and Wasim Akram will play coach to Akshay Kumar’s cricket team.
It will be shot in London and is expected to release next year in Pakistan. The music will be scored by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics will be written by Sameer. The last movie by Nikhil and Akshay Kumar was Chadni Chowk and it was not much of a hit in Pakistan. Whereas his directed movie Kal Ho Na Ho was a great hit in Pakistan.
Wasim Akram already has had a taste of Bollywood when Wasim Akram judged the dance show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena with Sushmita Sen.
Pakistan has yet another reason to be proud of Wasim Akram. Wasim Akram has been a great cricketer and one hopes that he will be as good in acting and make Pakistan even more proud.

Wasim Akram Bio

Wasim Akram (born June 3, 1966 in Lahore, Punjab) is a former Pakistani cricketer. He was a left-arm fast bowler and left-handed batsman, who represented the Pakistani cricket team in Tests and One Day Internationals. Widely regarded as one of the finest fast bowlers ever, Akram holds world records for the most wickets taken in List A cricket (881), and is second only to Muttiah Muralitharan in terms of ODI wickets (502). He is considered to be one of the pioneers of reverse swing bowling.[1][2][3] The revolutionary nature of reverse swing initially resulted in accusations of ball tampering, although reverse swing has now been accepted as a legitimate feature of the game. Akram's later career was also tarnished with accusations of match fixing, although these remain unproven.
